This connector adapter has a Female F connector on one side and a BNC male on the other.  This is most commonly used to utilize coax cable you already have from cable TV installations.  Most cable TV cables have male F connectors on each end.  You would simply screw one of these connectors on each end of that cable to use that cable for normal CCTV surveillance or security cameras.
